Wawanesa is a mutual company owned by its members and has assets of over $9.5 billion, and over two million policies in force. Underwriting is critical to the success of Wawanesa. Our team of Underwriters review applications for insurance of individuals or businesses and decide whether to offer insurance to the applicants based on accepting or rejecting the risk and determining the premium that should be paid. We build relationships with our brokers and keep abreast of current insurance industry trends. The work our team does is tied to our high-level organizational goals, and has a direct impact on the products and services that we offer.
