Job Overview

Working under general supervision, we have multiple job opportunites available for Solution Analysts whom will be part of our Core Application Delivery team.  The role contributes to Wawanesa success by designing, documenting, testing and supporting system solutions to meet business stakeholder requirements.


The Core Application Delivery team provides foundational functionality, typically "systems of record", that are used directly by internal Wawanesa employees and as the reliable data sources for our external applications.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the analysis, design and documentation of both system and business requirements for application enhancements and projects.
  • Participate in requirement sessions with business and system teams.
  • Collaborate with multiple functions to ensure quality software
  • Create test cases based on requirements documentation and defect resolutions
  • Contribute to the communication of system solutions in business and technical terms.
  • Contribute to the resolution of both business requirements and system issues.
  • Follow established practices, processes and guidelines.
  • Knowledge of system standards and IS department established methodologies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Completion of post-secondary degree/certificate or equivalent experience.
  • Practical or up to 3 years experience performing systems analysis, business analysis or equivalent
  • Effective analysis and problem solving skills for collecting data to analyze options.
  • Effective attention to detail skills to produce deliverables that consider the areas involved.
  • Effective communication skills to share information with others.
  • Effective planning and organizing skills to develop plans and meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Understanding of agile practices, scrum, kanban and continuous delivery.
  • Experience in programming languages is considered an asset.
  • Knowledge and experience in insurance industry is considered an asset.
