Job Overview

We are currently looking for a Senior Financial Analyst to join our growing Enterprise Finance team. 

The Senior Financial Analyst is accountable for conducting accounting research and analysis on complex accounting transactions and standards, assisting with technology and process change initiatives, assisting the design and testing of financial reports and for driving the readiness of the finance system and reporting processes for our overall finance modernization initiatives.

Job Responsibilities
•    Assist in the design and testing of IFRS compliant financial reports;
•    Lead the identification of data modifications, reporting requirements, and analytical information needs;
•    Prepare, document, and execute system testing. Identify defects and support solutioning;
•    Develop new business processes and related controls including process documentation and process change initiatives to support transition to other business stakeholder groups;
•    Lead in the testing and implementation of accounting systems, calculation engines and other finance modernization initiatives;
•    Support periodic program deliverables to the external bodies;
•    Performs other duties as assigned.


•    Professional accounting designation; CPA, CA, CMA, CGA;
•    Minimum three years of relevant accounting experience;
•    Previous insurance industry experience would be considered an asset;
•    Working knowledge of IFRS accounting standards;
•    Working knowledge of IFRS 17 would be considered an asset;
•    Proficient in the use of MS Office software;
•    Ability to research accounting standards and apply practical solutions to accounting issues;
•    Excellent in written and verbal communication skills with the ability to communicate at the right level of complexity for the audience;
•    Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify relationships, problems and issues;
•    Strong organization skills with the ability to handle multiple concurrent responsibilities;
•    Adaptable to a changing environment, with the ability to champion change while motivating and influencing others;
•    Highly proficient time management skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, changing environment;
•    Ability to work as part of a team as well as independently;
•    A cooperative, enthusiastic and energetic attitude demonstrating a commitment to continuous learning and willingness to take on challenging tasks;
•    Interest in obtaining a CIP designation would be considered an asset;
•    Committed to continuous learning on emerging trends and relevant accounting guidance.
