Job Overview

Under minimal supervision, the Senior Business Operations Support role contributes to Wawanesa’s success by being a liaison with stakeholders to analyze, solve and document underwriting, claims and regulatory reporting processes and requirements.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to ensure department processes contribute to organizational goals and represents the best interests of stakeholders
  • Respond to incidents by using first-level problem determination techniques to analyze, solve and escalate incidents
  • Demonstrate commitment to providing a high level of customer service by communicating with customers to facilitate the timely resolution of reported incidents
  • Recognize, analyze and resolve inconsistencies with data and various system applications
  • Participate in design and business requirements and verify new system technology and enhancements to existing systems, products, services and processes inclusive of planning, designing, executing and evaluating test material
  • Monitor adherence and utilization of processes, procedures and standards and assist in the ongoing improvement of quality and efficiency of such processes including preparing recommended solutions
  • Motivate, train and mentor other Business Operations Support staff
  • Maintain department knowledgebase
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

 

  • Minimum 3 years’ experience in the Property and Casualty Insurance industry
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office tools
  • Strong attention to detail, analysis, and problem solving skills including ability to conduct detailed analysis and identify several solutions
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment including guiding and motivating team members 
  • Strong communication skills with ability to interact professionally and express ideas clearly with a diverse group
  • Strong planning and organizing skills with demonstrated ability to self-manage a fluctuating workload and priorities
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to broaden and deepen knowledge base and proficiencies.
  • Good client service orientation with ability to take responsibility for addressing customer needs including communicating with the customer regarding the progress of their request
  • Proactively seeks opportunities to broaden and deepen knowledge base and proficiencies
  • Actively pursuing a GIE/CIP designation is considered an asset
  • Bilingual French/English is preferred
  • Experience with Guidewire software is considered a strong asset
