Job Overview

As the Manager, Claims Effectiveness, this role will implement tactics designed to advance the effectiveness of our insurance operations across all Claims Business Lines. This position will report to the Director, Claims Quality Assurance, and partner with the Claims QA Teams in terms of measuring improvement opportunities in Claims through the QA Program results.  This function will have key accountability to evaluate and deliver operationalized solutions to improve adjuster capability across all business areas. 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Evaluate, prioritize, and implement opportunities to improve Claims Effectiveness
  • Utilize a change management approach when introducing changes into the organization to ensure change is understood, embedded into the business, sustained, and measured
  • Own and deliver solutions to reduce leakage across all Claims Business Lines
  • Develop reporting to track progress against success metrics 
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with internal business teams and other stakeholders to assist the teams in meeting operational objectives and goals.
  • Coordinate and provide instruction and/or training of improvements and leader coaching as required
  • Adhere to all statutory and regulatory requirements, fair treatment of customer practices and compliance requirements
  • Contribute to special projects as assigned
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Thorough knowledge of all aspects of claims handling and/or experience in leading a complex multiline claims operation
  • Extensive knowledge of coverage wordings, policy interpretation, case law, legislation, and insurance regulations\
  • Strong business acumen with excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to recognize and identify critical issues. 
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to communicate at the right level for the audience and present information or arguments in a convincing manner
  • Excellent collaboration skills, with the ability to ensure group objectives are met
  • Effective organization skills and a demonstrated ability to deliver results in a fast-paced dynamic environment while working independently 
  • Insurance experience 10+ years with solid understanding and experience in P&C Claims Operations
  • Leadership experience is a requirement
  • Consulting experience is an asset
  • Completion of the CRM, CIP and/or FCIP designation is an asset
  • Bilingual in English and French is an asset
