The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range: $42,000 -  $48,000. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are still encouraged to apply.

Job Overview

Working under general supervision, the Facilities Operations Support works to support Wawanesa’s Corporate Facilities team by assisting with routine building operations, workspace support, and day-to-day maintenance activities. The role provides direct support to the Facilities Technician to help ensure the workplace remains safe, functional, and professionally maintained. This position contributes to the overall success of Corporate Facilities through timely, responsive, and service-oriented support.


Job Responsibilities

  • Support the Facilities Technician with routine building maintenance and minor repair activities.
  • Safely perform tasks at height using ladders or step stools, including adherence to all safety protocols, proper equipment inspection, and use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Assist with workstation moves, furniture setup, meeting room configurations, and general space adjustments.
  • Provide internal and external event support, including room setup and tear-down, furniture staging, signage placement, and post-event reset of spaces.
  • Perform basic upkeep tasks such as light bulb replacement, minor paint touch-ups, filter changes, and general housekeeping of back-of-house areas.
  • Conduct regular walkthroughs to identify maintenance, safety, or cleanliness concerns and report findings appropriately.
  • Support the facilities work order process by responding to routine service requests and escalating issues when required.
  • Assist with receiving, staging, and distributing facilities-related deliveries and supplies.
  • Maintain organized storage rooms and support inventory tracking of facilities materials and supplies.
  • Provide support during preventative maintenance activities under direction.
  • Assist with building-related emergency response activities as directed.
  • Responsible for carrying out additional special projects as required.

Qualifications

  • High School diploma required.
  • Related post-secondary education in building operations, trades, or facilities management considered an asset.
  • 0–2 years of general maintenance, building support, or facilities-related experience preferred.
  • Basic understanding of computers, mobile devices, and work order systems; proficiency with MS Office considered an asset.
  • Strong communication skills; written and verbal.
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and time management abilities.
  • Ability to work in a team environment and demonstrate a service-oriented mindset.
  • Adapts behavior to meet the demands of a changing environment; demonstrates stability of performance under pressure and/or during urgent situations.
  • Physically capable of lifting to 40 lbs. and pushing up to 55 lbs. as required to support operational activities.
  • Ability to safely work at heights using ladders or similar equipment in compliance with applicable health and safety requirements.
  • Bilingual (English and French) considered an asset.
