The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range: $19.89/hr - 23.38/hr.

Job Overview

The Catastrophe Claims Representative Intern, contributes to Wawanesa’s goal of delivering an exceptional and consistent claims experience through the fair and equitable adjustment of small to moderate complexity property claims resulting from catastrophes, Natural Disasters, and weather events.

 

This is a term, student role, with a start date on May 4, 2026, and end date on August 21, 2026.

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Manage and provide direction and support to a high volume of policy holders through the life of the claim.
  • Interpret policy wordings, determine policy coverage.
  • Adhering to policies, procedures, and Standard of Work documentation, and ensuring detailed and accurate records in line with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  • Coordinating and managing services with vendors and service providers.
  • Communicating with policy holders in a timely and proactive manner.
  • Communicating claim decisions promptly and effectively, while delivering exceptional customer experience.
  • Working in partnership with other claims staff in both an individual and team-oriented capacity.
  • Maintaining an effective and current diary system and document claim file activities in accordance with established procedures.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in University or College and returning to full-time studies for the Fall 2026 term.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Demonstrated collaboration, communication, and investigation skills.
  • Demonstrated time and deadline management skills.
  • Demonstrated exceptional attention to detail.
  • Retail or other customer service focused work experience.
  • Bilingual in French and English is considered an asset.
