Working Business Language: English. Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. Job Overview
Working under the Manager of User Experience, this job contributes to Wawanesa’s success by crafting amazing digital experiences for our customers, brokers, and staff. This role will help us achieve our strategic business objectives by increasing user engagement, reducing friction, and supporting the Wawanesa brand. You will collaborate with team members, business partners, agile development teams, and other stakeholders to turn user needs, requirements, and creative strategies into cohesive and appealing digital experiences.
Job Responsibilities
- Design and develop user interfaces and user flows based on requirements and feedback from stakeholder groups.
- Create UI wireframes, mockups, and interactive prototypes.
- Participate in planning activities as needed.
- Develop HTML and CSS templates for digital applications.
- Work directly with development teams to provide HTML and CSS templating support.
- Maintain our CMS and associated web sites.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve browser and device-based display issues.
- Estimate and track progress on work tasks.
- Interact with the Customer Experience (CX) team to ensure alignment with the latest customer and user trends.
- Interact with Communications and Marketing teams to ensure brand alignment and consistency.
- Ensure adherence to established practices, processes, and guidelines.
- Develop and maintain UI documentation and UI templates for use by other groups.
- Keep current with relevant technologies, techniques, and design paradigms.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma in Graphic Design, Digital Media, or equivalent experience.
- Two to six years practical experience planning, designing, developing, and integrating user interfaces into production applications using current technologies.
- Detail oriented with analytical and problem-solving skills to recognize and identify issues and take proper action to resolve them.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner.
- Planning and organizing skills, with the ability to implement plans by prioritizing and multi-tasking.
- Effective presentation skills, able to communicate design rationales and link back to business needs.
- Experience using design and prototyping tools, such as Adobe Suite, Figma, Sketch etc...
- Experience writing HTML and CSS and the ability to trouble shoot browser and device display issues.
- Knowledge of JavaScript considered an asset.
- Experience with WCAG and web accessibility is considered an asset.
- Experience with JavaScript frameworks such as React or Angular is considered an asset.
- Certifications in relevant technology or processes is considered an asset.
- Knowledge and experience in the insurance industry is considered an asset.
