Job Overview
The Senior Third Party Governance Analyst is a key contributor for enablement of Wawanesa’s Third-Party Risk Management (TPRM) program. Reporting to the Director, Compliance Programs and Reporting, this role is responsible for supporting the design and maintenance of effective TPRM governance processes across the enterprise and working with key stakeholders to ensure third-party risks are monitored and reported. This role is an agent of change and continuous improvement, challenging the status quo and strengthening third party governance, supporting Management at Wawanesa in effective management of third-party risks.
Job Responsibilities
- Influences and Leads change management governance for key internal and external stakeholders in the management of third-party risks, including as a member of key advisory boards and working groups on matters relevant to third party risk governance.
- Develops, maintains, and communicates the TPRM Policy and Framework, and works with stakeholders to support their calibration of related policies and processes to the TPRM Policy and Framework.
- Responsible for coordinating the implementation of risk assessment processes with key stakeholders, including calibration of third-party risk assessment methodologies with the Enterprise Risk Management and Regulatory Compliance Management frameworks.
- Identifies and communicates third-party risk and control expectations to key stakeholders, including requirements related to due diligence, monitoring, and reporting of risks.
- Support change management processes in GRC and third-party management systems, providing key input to workflow processes and procedures related to third party risk management.
- Reviews monitoring plans and reporting from risk owners, performs follow-ups, and escalates control design and effectiveness weaknesses if they occur.
- Defines and monitors relevant Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), in conjunction with other oversight functions, and identify potential KRI breaches for escalation.
- Support the drafting of executive level reporting for Senior Management, the ELT, and the Board on the status of the TPRM Program, including identifying areas of material concern, aligned with Enterprise Compliance, Enterprise Risk, and other oversight functions.
- Prepares materials and supports the Third-Party Risk Oversight Committee, to effective decision making for VP stakeholders.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- At least 8 years of experience in third-party risk management or vendor governance, preferably at a financial institution or a professional services firm.
- University degree in a relevant field would be considered an asset.
- Experience working in or closely with governance and oversight functions with roles related to third party risk, such as Vendor Management, IT Risk, Compliance, and Risk.
- Expert knowledge of third-party related regulatory requirements, including OSFI B10, AMF Outsourcing, and other related guidelines.
- Strong project management skills, with the ability to manage complex and competing priorities.
- Ability to influence and manage relationships effectively, using facilitation and negotiation.
- Experience working with visualization and analytical tools (such as Power BI, Tableau), and a strong acumen for working with data to improve process efficiency and effectiveness.
- Strong collaboration skills include bringing a diverse group of stakeholders together.
- Bilingualism (French and English) would be considered an asset.
