Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. Job Overview
Working under minimal supervision, this role contributes to Wawanesa’s success by designing, building, and enhancing AI-driven solutions and core business applications, with a strong focus on integrating AI capabilities into enterprise platforms such as Guidewire.
The role plays a critical part in delivering end-to-end AI solutions—from idea to production—while ensuring system reliability, scalability, and operational resilience. It supports the organization’s transformation through cloud-based architecture, automation, and AI-enabled capabilities, enabling smarter decision-making across multiple lines of business.
Job Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test software across AI-driven solutions and Guidewire applications.
- Prepare technical specifications from requirements.
- Ensure successful completion of developer assignments by estimating and tracking progress of assigned work.
- Build and integrate AI solutions using modern technologies (e.g., Python, APIs, cloud services).
- Develop AI capabilities such as RAG-based solutions, automation workflows, and conversational interfaces.
- Implement integrations across AWS services and internal/external platforms to enable end-to-end solution workflows.
- Write unit, integration, and end-to-end tests to ensure reliability, correctness, and stability of services and agentic workflows.
- Implement and maintain logging, monitoring, and observability solutions to support debugging, tracing, and production support.
- Maintain the operation of business systems and applications.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve application incidents.
- Participate in planning activities.
- Improve upon and ensure adherence to the established practices, processes, and guidelines.
- Create and update relevant documentation.
- Keep current with relevant technologies.
- Mentor other Application Developers.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Completion of post-secondary degree or diploma in software development or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of practical experience in application development, including enterprise systems.
- Experience integrating systems using APIs and working with relational databases and SQL.
- Strong experience with Python and modern development frameworks.
- Experience working in AWS environments (e.g., Lambda, S3, EC2, IAM, API Gateway).
- Understanding or hands-on exposure to AI/ML or Generative AI concepts (LLMs, prompt engineering, retrieval patterns).
- Hands-on experience with agent frameworks (LangGraph, LangChain, AutoGen, CrewAI, etc.)
- Hands-on experience with Guidewire PolicyCenter or ClaimsCenter configuration (product model, UI, validations, forms, workflows)
