Working Business Language: English. Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range: $70,000 - $85,000. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are still encouraged to apply.

Job Overview
The Privacy Coordinator is a key player in Wawanesa’s privacy compliance team. Working with minimal supervision, the Privacy Coordinator provides high level guidance, support and direction on privacy matters to all Wawanesa’s Canadian operating businesses. The incumbent provides support to review applicable laws, regulations and best practices to main and enhance Wawanesa’s privacy management program. The incumbent assists the Privacy Manager who provides ongoing operational advice and support on privacy and access to information matters to the Vice President, Legal; Wawanesa’s Chief Privacy Officer.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide guidance, advice, support, and direction to Wawanesa’s operating businesses on privacy matters to manage compliance and address possible changes
- Receive, process and address all aspects related to privacy breaches and access to information requests
- Investigate and report on privacy breaches/incidents
- Provide support on breach notifications and related regulatory communications
- Perform ongoing privacy breach and access to information tracking and monitoring activities
- Support the Privacy Team and applicable business stakeholders on privacy/project impact assessments
- Support in the delivery of privacy training and orientation to employees and other business stakeholders.
- Support processes for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and taking appropriate action on all inquiries and complaints concerning the organization’s privacy policies, practices, and procedures in coordination and collaboration with other similar functions
- Actively participate as a member of the Ethics, Compliance and Legal team
- Work with members of the Ethics, Compliance and Legal team as well as business stakeholders to develop and refine existing information handling practices and processes
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- A minimum of 2 years’ prior experience dealing with access to information and/or privacy related matters in the private or public sector
- Prior experience and a working knowledge of federal and/or provincial Privacy Laws
- IAPP or similar designation strongly preferred
- Post-secondary education with a focus on legal or similar field is required
- Knowledge of the insurance industry experience an asset
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Excellent reading, writing and speaking in French languages is an asset
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to conduct detailed analysis of information and to select and implement best solutions in a timely manner
- Exceptional written and oral communication skills in English, with the ability to communicate at the right level for the audience and present information or arguments in a convincing manner
- Excellent planning and organizational skills, with the ability to develop and prioritize effective plans that define activities, resources and timelines
- Excellent attention to detail with the ability to influence key relationships
