The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range: $110,000 - $125,000. Candidates with salary expectations outside of the range are still encouraged to apply.

Job Overview

The Manager, Enterprise Treasury, is accountable for safeguarding the company’s financial assets and minimizing risks related to liquidity, debt, and foreign exchange. This role is central to managing Wawanesa’s cash and financial resources to support both short- and long-term strategic objectives. The Manager oversees daily treasury operations while driving continuous process improvement, modernization, and automation across the function.

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Lead and develop the Enterprise Treasury team, providing strategic direction, coaching, and oversight to ensure high performance and operational excellence.
  • Oversee day to day banking and payment operations, including the review and approval of journal entries and bank reconciliations, and ensuring outstanding items are resolved promptly.
  • Optimize and monitor the company’s cash position by ensuring sufficient liquidity for operations and capital expenditures — including support for organic and inorganic growth initiatives and the Broker Loan program. Lead cash flow forecasting, direct short term cash investment activities, collaborate with the investment team on cash movements, and analyze variances against forecast.
  • Manage the accounting, reconciliation, and monthly reporting requirements of the Broker Loan portfolio.
    Maintain strong relationships with commercial banking partners, facilitating discussions on short term investment opportunities, treasury management services, banking fee structures, and administration of the corporate credit card program. Analyze and manage fees across banking, credit card, and treasury platforms, identifying opportunities for cost savings and added value for members.
  • Own key corporate financial policies, including Delegation of Authority, Cash Management, Travel & Expense, and Corporate Credit Card policies. Ensure a robust control environment to support consistent and effective policy implementation.
  • Lead the day-to-day foreign currency risk management program, including policy updates, coordination with the Fixed Income team for execution, and reporting to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Drive treasury-related modernization initiatives and projects, enhancing reporting, automation, and alignment with enterprise finance transformation efforts.
  • Stay current on regulatory requirements and industry developments within the Property & Casualty and Life sectors and broader treasury landscape, incorporating advancements into processes and strategies.
  • Perform other duties as assigned to support the effective management of the Treasury function and enterprise financial objectives.

Qualifications

  • 10 years accounting and/or treasury experience with increasing responsibilities including supervisory responsibilities.
  • Completion of or working towards a CPA designation
  • Works continuously to identify and action strategic opportunities for self, team, and organization.
  • Demonstrates a commitment to the development of motivated and effective team members by providing support, learning opportunities, and a positive work environment.
  • Develops and implements comprehensive plans that bridge complex issues and span across time while preparing for all significant contingencies.
  • Makes excellent and well justified decisions in complex and high-pressure situations.
  • Effective interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills to facilitate sessions presentations at all levels of the organization.
  • Previous experience in corporate treasury, insurance or treasury and/or insurance designation considered an asset.
