Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. The salary offered is estimated to be within the following range: $50,000 - $56,000.

Job Overview

Join Wawanesa as an Agency Coordinator – Individual, a key role supporting our Life broker network. This detail-focused, service-driven position coordinates broker licensing and contracting from onboarding through ongoing maintenance, responds to broker needs, and partners with internal teams to keep operations running smoothly. The role also contributes to special agency projects that help improve the broker experience and drive continued success.

 

Job Responsibilities

 

  • Administer broker onboarding, including licensing setup, direct deposit, portal access, and compliance checks (e.g., Bridger, Equifax, CISRO, CSA).
  • Manage updates to broker and agency information, such as name, address, banking, and email changes, as well as contract terminations.
  • Maintain and organize contracting records by uploading to document management systems and purging cancelled agent files.
  • Collaborate with other teams, to respond to broker inquiries related to commissions and licensing via shared phone lines and support channels.
  • Provide policy summaries, renewal schedules, and assist with agent of record or servicing agent changes.
  • Offer technical support on key operating platforms, including password resets and system navigation assistance.
  • Oversee and verify broker license renewals for each province, ensuring compliance with all relevant guidelines.
  • Maintain up-to-date records of broker Errors and Omissions (E&O) insurance and ensure compliance with provincial insurance council regulations.
  • Ensure adherence to provincial insurance council regulations by conducting thorough verifications as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements through regular audits and monitoring.
  • Perform additional related duties as assigned to support the overall success of the agency coordination team.

Qualifications

  • Completion of post-secondary education in a business-related program or more than one year of office experience.
  • Demonstrated proficiency with technical systems such as One Span and Salesforce.
  • Proven ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong creative and technical problem-solving abilities.
  • Effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Previous insurance experience or knowledge of life insurance products are considered assets.
  • Bilingualism in French and English considered an asset.
