Job Overview
Working under general supervision, this role supports Wawanesa’s success by providing superior customer service on Company’s new business. This role is responsible for ensuring life insurance applications are issued in a timely manner, providing administrative assistance to underwriters, and providing support and updates to brokers on their new business.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide exceptional customer service to brokers on their new business applications
- Act as a liaison between the underwriter and the broker
- Review and set up new applications for underwriters’ review and order and follow up on underwriting requirements
- Ensure new life applications are processed in a timely manner, with attention to detail
- Investigate inconsistencies and missing information
- Follow compliance regulations by obtaining the necessary requirements
- Provide mentorship and training to new hires as required
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- One to two years' experience in an administrative or customer service capacity in an office environment is required
- Willingness to enroll in, actively workinag towards or completion of LOMA 280 and 290 is an asset.
- Strong computer skills and knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite is required, JIRA software experience would be an asset
- Strong attention to detail with the ability to review information carefully and to completion.
- Good communication skills, both written and oral, with the ability to communicate at the right level for the audience, including telephone skills.
- Comfortable working under pressure and handling stressful situations in a professional manner
- Good time management and organization skills with the ability to establish priorities and meet Company service standards, with the ability to handle a fluctuating workload.
- Ability to contribute to a positive and collaborative work atmosphere
- Demonstrated adherence to strict confidentiality and privacy of information policies
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment
