Job Overview

The Inside Claims Representative I contributes to Wawanesa’s goal of delivering an exceptional and consistent claims experience through the fair and equitable adjustment of small to moderate auto and/or property claims by means of telephone and written correspondence.

This position is intended as a summer student role with an anticipated start date of May 1st, 2023 and anticipated end date of September 1st, 2023.

Job Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service

  • Identify policy coverage and ensure appropriate reserving

  • Coordinate services with vendors and service providers

  • Maintain the member contact throughout the claim process

  • Maintain accurate records based on company standards and policies within the claims system

  • Ability to work outside regular work hours may be required

  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Currently enrolled in College/University program
  • Effective customer service skills demonstrating empathy and concern for customer satisfaction
  • Ability to manage a high claim inventory and high new claim intake, which may include the ability to work extra time on weeknights and weekends. Availability during peak Catastrophe season is required.
  • Good communication skills, both written and oral
  • Good investigative and analytical skills
  • Good time management and organizational skills with the ability to prioritize work in a fast paced, changing environment
  • Detail oriented with a critical degree of accuracy regarding data entry
  • Good negotiation skills
