Job Overview

 

Our Commercial Insurance Actuarial Pricing team is expanding, therefore we are looking an exceptional candidate to take an open job opportunity at either the Actuarial Analyst II, or Senior Actuarial Analyst level.

 

In this role, you will be responsible for providing rate and segmentation analysis for Programs or specialty accounts using traditional pricing analysis and predictive modeling. You will use your actuarial techniques and judgment to identify and solve business problems. In addition, you are expected to provide actuarial services or support to other pricing, corporate actuarial, product development, and system design projects.  


 
Job Responsibilities


•    Perform traditional actuarial ratemaking and segmentation reviews for Commercial Programs and specialty accounts; make quality recommendations and provide implementation support when required.
•    Collaborate with specialty lines underwriters to understand the business context, specialty program structures, market conditions and craft rating recommendations to ensure rate adequacy and improve program mix
•    Conduct analysis to address insurance issues; propose quality solutions and provide implementation support when required.  Develop, validate, and maintain actuarial reports to meet business needs. Monitor the key performance indicators of the Commercial Programs portfolio, and report to management as necessary.
•    Using modern modeling software to develop, modify, and validate predictive statistical models to increase pricing sophistication and refine strategic positioning.
•    Participate in coach and mentoring of junior staff.
•    Perform other duties as assigned, handling special projects as assigned. 
 

Qualifications


•    Undergraduate university degree in Actuarial Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics or other related field of study
•    Pursuing ACAS or FCAS with a minimum of 4 Associateship Exams  & VEE Credits
•    Minimum of 2 years’ prior work experience in insurance or related field
•    Positive attitude. Ability to adapt to change. A team player. 
•    Innovative. Strong analytical skills. A critical thinker.
•    Proficiency with relevant modeling software such as R, Emblem would be an asset
•    Knowledge of Radar and Classifier is preferred
