Job Overview

Working with a high degree of autonomy, we are looking for an experienced individual to take upon this role as either Actuarial Analyst II or Senior Actuarial Analyst and contribute to the Actuarial Pricing - Personal Insurance team based on both work experience and knowledge from the actuarial exam system and prior relevant academic or work experience.  You will mentor colleagues while applying your knowledge and experience to complex actuarial analysis in the pursuit of solving business issues and answering business questions.  You'll work closely with our products team to provide support for the Quebec region.



  • Perform analysis/reviews as assigned
  • Prepare recommendations based on data summaries, trend analysis, financial analysis and business analysis while considering the impact of decisions on all areas of the organization
  • Incorporate, understand and transfer knowledge of current methods to create models for solving business problems
  • Develop effective plans that define and track the status of project timelines, resources, and tasks
  • Research, extract, and manipulate complex data from all relevant sources
  • Develop and deliver presentations to the actuarial group, other departments, and senior management with precision and clarity
  • Review analysis of colleagues for reasonableness, completeness and accuracy
  • Train and coach other actuarial staff and actively share expertise with peers
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the manager or director
  • Undergraduate university degree in Actuarial Mathematics, Statistics, Mathematics or other related field of study
  • Credit for 3 to 6 CAS Exams, VEE and Online Course Credits
  • Minimum 2 to 4 years work experience in insurance or a related field
  • High level of proficiency with relevant modeling software such as Emblem, Classifier or Radar
  • Understanding of current industry and professional standards and government regulations which impact decisions and indicate requirements
  • Robust knowledge of Microsoft Office applications
  • Ability to adapt to change
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills with ability to communicate at the right level of complexity for the audience
  • Fluency in French an asset, but not required
