Job Overview

As the Regional Manager of Life Insurance for the Eastern Ontario Region, this role will promote Wawanesa Life as a provider of Life insurance in the marketplace and contribute to Wawanesa Life success and plan and execute Annual Business Plan to achieve business goals/targets for sales and to achieve necessary persistency and profitability targets for the territory. 

 

Job Responsibilities

  • Develop Annual Business Plan for approval by Manager, National Sales & Marketing
  • Manage Territory based on Business Plan and company objectives
    • Implement Business Plan
    • Contact, Build and Maintain broker relationships as necessary, ensuring broker selection meets company standards 
    • Provide feedback on market activity in assigned region new broker relationships as necessary
  • Support Wawanesa existing P&C relationships in the region by identifying and executing cross-sell opportunities
  • Collaborate with colleagues in group benefits to identify opportunities 
  • Train producers in product knowledge and administrative requirements.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Business Administration Diploma or University Degree with a major in Marketing and/or Sales
  • Full life license.  Preference will be given to those candidates with a university degree and industry designations such as CLU or CFP
  • 5 years proven sales experience working in the life insurance industry with emphasis on initiating contact, presenting and closing sales
  • Ability to market life insurance products to consumers and have experience in dealing with producers
  • Self starter
  • Willing to work independently
  • Excellent communication skills (verbal, written and listening) and the ability to communicate with all levels of authority
  • Commitment to personal development by keeping current with changes in the industry, reading professional publications and maintaining professional network contacts
  • Ability to plan and organize their schedule
  • Travel will be expected but varying due to current events, which may include overnight
