Working Business Language: This role is considered a head-office role and will be required to communicate with internal stakeholders across Canada where the primary business language utilized is English.
Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. The Solution Analyst will be part of our Life Core Application Delivery team and contributes to Wawanesa’s success by designing, documenting, testing, and supporting system solutions to meet business stakeholder requirements.
The ideal candidate will enjoy working in an agile scrum team that facilitates rapid design, development and implementation of application changes that embodies a passion for continuous improvement and test-driven development. You will have Analyst experience related to Business, Systems, and/or Quality and have technical proficiency with Windows desktop, web and API applications.
Our Life Core area is supporting ongoing business and technology transformation, as well as maturing our current delivery processes and practices. This is a great opportunity to be a part of the ongoing transformations and put your stamp on our company.
Job Responsibilities
- Conduct analysis, design and documentation of both system and business requirements for application enhancements and projects.
- Conduct requirement sessions with business and system teams.
- Communicate system solutions in business and technical terms.
- Collaborate with multiple functions to ensure quality software
- Create and execute test cases based on requirements documentation and defect resolutions
- Resolve both system and business requirement issues.
- Contribute to process and procedure improvements.
- Follow established practices, processes and guidelines.
- Keep up to date with current system standards and IS department established methodologies.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Three years’ experience performing systems or business analysis.
- Completion of post-secondary degree/certificate or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in SQL is considered an asset.
- Excellent analysis and problem solving skills using a structured approach.
- Excellent attention to detail skills to produce quality deliverables that accounts for all areas involved.
- Strong communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with style fitting for the audience and message.
- Strong planning and organizing skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Experience in agile practices, scrum, kanban and continuous delivery.
- Experience with tools like Jira, Confluence, Splunk is considered an asset.
- Experience in programming languages is considered an asset.
- Knowledge and experience in Life insurance industry is considered an asset.
