Working Business Language: This role is considered a head-office role and will be required to communicate with internal stakeholders across Canada where the primary business language utilized is English.
Salary: At Wawanesa, salary is only one component of a holistic, comprehensive and competitive offering that we provide to our employees. The salary offered for this role is determined with consideration to various factors, including but not limited to: your work location, local labour market conditions, external market salary data, internal pay equity and the knowledge, skills, experience and anticipated proficiency in the role. Job Overview
This role is responsible for implementing Wawanesa’s quality management framework including metrics, processes, and best practices as well as helping employees build their quality skills and nurturing a holistic culture of quality throughout the organization.
Job Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis, design, documentation, and implementation of quality processes and practices.
- Work with teams and leaders to understand their needs and quality impediments.
- Collaborate with teams and leaders to plan and implement quality process improvements.
- Guide teams in the application of appropriate methods that address their quality impediments and/or improve their quality outcomes.
- Monitor the effectiveness of quality related process improvements.
- Curate and maintain quality related metrics and measurements.
- Measure and monitor quality trends at both the team and organizational level.
- Ensure quality process improvements comply with standards and best practices.
- Coach and educate teams and leaders on new quality processes and practices.
- Collaborate with teams on test planning, system integration and user acceptance testing.
- Collaborate with teams on test data creation and management.
- Promote a holistic view of quality and a culture and mindset of continuous learning and improvement.
- Maintain a high level of knowledge on approaches to quality and quality tactics and the technical implications
- Be familiar with emerging quality practices, approaches, and tools.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Minimum five years of experience in a quality assurance or quality management role.
- Completion of post-secondary degree/certificate or equivalent experience.
- One or more quality assurance certifications (ASQ, IIST, ISTQB, CSQA, etc.) preferred.
- Demonstrate knowledge in testing and quality management.
- Demonstrate knowledge in agile delivery approaches (e.g. Scrum, Kanban, continuous delivery).
- Advanced analysis and problem-solving skills using a structured approach.
- Advanced understanding of software delivery processes and tools.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with an appropriate style for the audience and message.
- Excellent listening skills, with the ability to probe for deeper understanding and surface underlying information.
- Excellent planning and organizing skills, with the ability to clarify priorities and develop and implement plans.
- Experience training and guiding teams through change.
- Good leadership skills to provide support and guidance to team members.
- Proven ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- Insurance industry experience preferred.
