Our Actuarial team applies mathematics, statistical methods, and risk theory to calculate insurance premiums. We assess Wawanesa’s ability to pay its claims by tracking payment statistics. We analyze insurance rates for things such as cars, homes or life insurance and estimate the amount of money needed to be set-aside for claims that have not yet been paid and forecast the potential financial impact of catastrophes.
Our team is comprised of over 100 people across North America whose functions include: Pricing, Corporate Actuarial, Capital, Risk, Analytics, Strategy, and Financial Planning & Analysis.
